So, this is the cup version of the super spicy Korean noodles I reviewed the other day. They only have the regular-flavoured noodles in cup form, but in a way, I get to try out the original hot chicken flavour without the cheese. 8D
It's got the chilli sauce and sesame/seaweed toppings (minus the cheese) |
Like the bowl version, it's meant to be eaten "dry," so there are holes you can poke into the cover to drain the hot water once it's done cooking. The chilli and the other toppings come after that.
And it's done! |
Time to mix and eat! |
It's not as tasty as the cheese version, but the spiciness is more manageable since it's a smaller portion. It's still tasty, though. (It's just that I like cheese.) I later added a soft-boiled egg to the noodles because something about spicy instant noodles calls for an egg to go with it. I didn't add any furikake this time, since the sesame toppings they provided were sufficient.
Plop in an egg! (cooked separately!) |
Letting the egg yolk pop and coat the noodles in savoury goodness is why I like soft-boiled eggs in noodles. |
As something to satisfy your craving for something spicy without being too overbearing, this cup noodle gets the job done. You may need to add some extra stuff if you want more taste or substance out of it, though.
