Whew, finally got off my lazy arse to update this poor blog.
Just this month some seasons of anime have finished their runs and new ones have taken their place. This is just my two/five/whatever cents on what I have completed and on what I have started.
The End:
Gundam 00 (2nd Season) - The first season was ok for me but it left me craving for the second season. Then the second season was kinda less realistic and more ridiculous & LOLable but I don't mind, especially the Tieria fanservice :) (which was LOLable most of the time XD). I'd still watch the movie when it comes out.
Tales of The Abyss - I don't know why, even though I have not played the game and found it hard to follow sometimes, I still love it! It must be the opening song (I love it!) and my love for JRPGs. I really want to play Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia...
Kyou Kara Maoh!(Season 3) - I found it a bit long but at least it had a happy ending. I liked how seemingly seperate things suddenly got connected. However, I still don't know the purpose of the OVA and where it fits in the timaline because Saralegui was re-introduced in this season (D:?).
Soul Eater - I like it! The fight scenes are very creative with creative uses of unlikely things as weapons. I respect the creator's creativity. What I hate is that through most of the series I always unconsciously wonder how those scenes were represented in the manga and whether the plot of the anime is different from the manga. These thoughts/preoccupations prevents me from fully appreciating the show.
Dammit.
Anyway, the ending seemed a bit rushed with a few major revelations popping up in the last episode itself, and Ashura's philosophy confuses me to no end.
Casshern Sins - No comment. (i.e. It left me confused.)
Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae - It's ok. Some episodes are ok, some episodes are interesting, some episodes are creepy/makes you facepalm and a few are very wtf?!. I feel kinda sad that Enma Ai will never be relieved of her duties as Jigoku Shoujo but I'm still confused as to what had happened to Ai at the end of season 2 after she died. (They never make things clear.) There was once I was reading the plot of season 3 on wikipedia when I barely watched halfway but it was a fake that talked about the return of the Jigoku Shounen and I actually believed it. Wth lol.
The Beginning:
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - The episodes are a bit rushed but it's understandable, and I can't wait for it to catch up to where the 1st anime deviated. Somehow I prefer Roy and Gluttony's old seiyuus.. -_-" I'll just wait for my ears to get used to them. At the moment, I keep hearing Lockon Stratos and picturing Regene Regetta. However, I LOLed when I found out that Kimblee's new seiyuu is the one behind Allelujah Haptism. This shall be interesting.
Hayate no Gotoku (Season 2) - The first season started out fantastic but it gradually got more ridiculous towards the end. What I didn't like was the frequent use of fanservice(the one geared towards men) and the annoying/unlikable characters. I'm hoping(lowly) the second season is good but so far it's still meh. I'd have to get used to the new character designs too.
Sengoku Basara - Awesome fluid fight scenes that are ridiculous in a good way. I'll watch it just for the battles and the LOLness of it all. XD
Valkyria Chronicles - I really want to play the game. But the anime reeks of cliche. And I find Alicia's voice annoying and Welkin's a wimp. But I will still play the game when I get it. To be safe, I shall not watch anymore of it for fear that it might destroy my image of how awesome the game might be.
Higashi no Eden - Looks very promising. I look forward to the next episode. >:D
07-Ghost - What got me was the world in 07-Ghost, the architecture, and those cool powers, and those reapers. I will watch it, even if it is full of cliches and yaoi undertones. Even if most of the characters are unrealistically young-looking bishounen.
..And that's it for now. I'm still thinking of trying the other new anime.

The extreme Tsundere
There was a new anime that I've been wanting to watch for some time but I couldn't because I needed the RAM for other anime and I was lazy to watch it online. Then 2 weeks ago I finally got off my lazy butt and watched it online. That anime was Toradora!
I had relatively high hopes for it due to the potential in the storyline I read. I was hoping that it would be different. The first episode started of fantastically and I immediately had taken a liking to the male protagonist Ryuuji. All was going well until Taiga appeared. I had already knew that she would be a tsundere character and I tend to dislike extreme tsundere's (*cough*louise*cough*). I still kept an open mind even though Taiga was acting in a way that would make me dislike her straight away (sdlkjgsdjhdsbloodybitch). I also somewhat dislike the personality of the girl Ryuuji has a crush on (I dunno why but I have something against short haired girls with an attitude or something which would take too long to explain so I'll stop here). Then at episode 2 Taiga confessed her feelings to the guy she likes and had seemed to have stopped the slave thing with Ryuuji. Oh wow, a fast progressing plot, I like that! Yay, the abuse is over!! ...or so I thought.
When I watched episode 3 I found out that nothing much has changed since the last episode. Taiga still calls Ryuuji a dog, is still ungrateful, still abuses him and I cannot understand why Ryuuji puts up with her. I guess it's because they will eventually end up as a couple anyway, but I just cannot understand it. I just lost the motivation to continue watching it after that episode. I know it may be a bit early to judge the anime like that but I just hate how Taiga behaves. I know that she has problems or something with her family that may have made her the way she is, but I do not have sympathy for the inconsiderate and ungrateful. Maybe later in the series she might become a better person but I do not have the patience to see it through. The only thing that may change my mind to continue the series would be the story/plot progression, but that is very difficult because I have to put up with that other character whose personality I dislike.
The same thing happened with Zero no Tsukaima. What's up with these tsundere's?! They throw physical and verbal abuse at the guys they eventually fall in love with and then the guys miraculously falls in love with them in return. Are they masochists??!!! It's torture to have to put up with such abuses every day (especially the whip!!).(I also feel sorry for Kugimiya Rie because I may end up disliking her if she had to voice anymore tsunderekko's in the future). I'm not sure if it happens in Toradora! but in Zero no Tsukaima, even after getting 'married' Louise still beats Saito up over 'unfaithfulness'. I did watch the first season of the anime but I only watched the first and last two episodes of season 2. The reason for the skip was because initially I didn't want to continue watching it but was just curious to see how it ended, whether there was any progress in their relationship. I saw the marriage and thought the tsundereness was over, but in the end, nothing much has changed.
Toradora! was not the only anime which put me off due to a character's/characters' behaviour(s). I couldn't tolerate Kyouka's repulsive behaviour from Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. There are other characters from other anime who put me off due to something but I will save that for another post.
Ok, I understand that characters can't suddenly change their behaviours/personalities so easily (or it might seem unnatural) and it may happen after multiple developements or a big change/epiphany but I do not want to torture myself by having to put up with main characters that I dislike.
Anyway, don't take this post too seriously or let it change your anime preferences because everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I just needed to get this off my head/chest. Oh my word, this must be the longest post I've ever written!!

Hetalia~! (a new addiction)
It's been a while since I've come across a comic that makes me smile like an idiot whenever I read it. And it has given me what secondary school sejarah has fallen short to teach:
World History.
Hetalia is a webcomic drawn by Hidekazu Himaruya(correct spelling?). I knew it was something interesting when it was about the world nations represented by bishies but I was too lazy to start searching/reading the manga. When the ONA of Axis Powers Hetalia came out, I immediately fell in love with it. (insert fangirl XDDDDD)
If I'm not mistaken, there are around 30 (or more) countries/nations in Hetalia and all of them are lovable in their own way. Some of my favourites are Japan (cute!! X3), China (poor cute thing), Russia (evil yandere), France (a perverted bisexual frenchman), Austria (fabulous!), Lithuania (poor thing... abused by Russia), England (a tsundere that hates France), Finland and his husband Sweden (<3), and Greece (hot body XD).
Within the crack and humour in the webmanga there is relevance to actual world history. It's world history represented in a funny way which are mostly ironically true. There are also hints of shounen-ai but don't let that bother you because the nations are mostly just humorously gay. You should try reading it. It's fun and enjoyable to read X3. If you already know of it, YAY, high five!! Spread the word XDDDDDD!!!!
I somehow fail to express my excitement and fangirling through words so I'll just end by saying this:
"PASTAAAAA~!"
(for more information, google "Hetalia")

I'm Aliiiive!!
I shall start over with more personal things and otaku indulgences.
.....Perhaps I should start with:
Happy New Year!!!!! Hello 2009!! Hello year of the cow!!!!!!!!
...and perhaps a list of anime I'm currently following:
- Gundam 00 Season 2 (currently addicted to it)
- Soul Eater (different from the stuff you see nowadays, which is a good thing)
- Tales of the Abyss (I like it even though I haven't played the game X3)
- Casshern Sins (Kyasshaaaan...)
- Kuroshitsuji (I might stop watching it, if I'm lazy)
- Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae
- Kyou Kara Maoh! (When will it ever end!!!!!)
- Birdy the Mighty Decode: 02
If I have the time, I might write reviews and stuff. And in the meantime I really should introduce more people to this blog and improve my writing skills.
