Food in Japan!

So, recently I went on a trip to Japan. I had a great time, but most importantly, I had a lot of good food! I won't feature all the food I've eaten (because that would make the blog post too long), but I'll just highlight the ones that stand out and/or keep with the theme of this blog.

Very Japaneeeese~

Isekai Shokudou - The food anime I've been wanting for.

It's been a while since I've written an anime review of sorts, but because it's food-themed it fits with the theme of this blog. Also, I really enjoyed it and I wanted to share about it! 8D Welcome to Isekai Shokudou!

2x Spicy Samyang Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen Cup (with added sugar)

I just recently found that Samyang has more flavours for their ramen cups, so I bought the cheese flavour and the new-ish 2x Spicy flavour. I'll be reviewing the 2x Spicy flavour this time!

Now I can enjoy the cheese flavour without the lactose intolerance kicking in!

Cup Noodle Review - Nissin WCNS 2017 - Hong Kong XO Seafood Flavour

This is Part 2 of the Nissin World Cup Noodle Summit 2017 series, where I'll be checking out the Hong Kong XO miso(?) with lot's of seafood flavour. (I dunno, that's what it roughly translates to. owo;;;)

Just call it XO seafood for short.

Cup Noodle Review - Nissin World Cup Noodle Summit 2017 - Indonesian Gulai Ayam Melayu

I got a couple of interesting cup noodle flavours from Japan. (Thanks, sister!) They're a part of "The World's Cup Noodle Summit 2017" series, which I've never heard of, but it should be interesting! 8D

Note that the broth for these noodles contain pork lard, so they're not halal...

Food Wars Recipes - "Gotcha" Roast Pork (Take 2)

The third season of Shokugeki no Soma has recently aired. I have not attempted any new recipes, but I do have a second attempt at the first dish that Soma presented to us: The "Gotcha" Roast Pork (Take 2)!!

I caught a cold, so what better way to clear the sinuses than to eat a bowl of super spicy korean ramen! >8D

I make weird life choices.

What's going on with my images?

So, it seems that Photobucket decided to not enable 3rd party hosting for free anymore.... which sucks because now I have to re-upload the photos in this blog somewhere, and then update the links and the captions. This'll take some time...
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cup Noodle Review: Samyang Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen (Cup)

So, this is the cup version of the super spicy Korean noodles I reviewed the other day. They only have the regular-flavoured noodles in cup form, but in a way, I get to try out the original hot chicken flavour without the cheese. 8D

And we're back with part 2 of my attempts at making my own version of Shinomiya's chou farci (from Food Wars, a.k.a Shokugeki no Soma)!

Food Wars Recipes - Shinomiya's Chou Farci (Part 1)

This time we have Shinomiya's chou farci, or stuffed cabbage! This dish is by far the hardest dish for me to get right, because I had to find substitute ingredients for this dish and I had no idea how much to use said ingredients.

Mmmmm.....

I'll be posting my 3 attempts at making this dish, with the first two attempts in this blog post and the third (and successful) attempt in another blog post.

Instant Noodle Review: Samyang Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen (bowl)

You may recognise these noodles in the spicy noodle challenges that appear on Youtube. These are the Samyang Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen, apparently the spiciest Korean instant noodles around. A note to make, this review is actually waaay overdue! (Even the pictures I have here are of the older packaging, lol!) At the time I first wanted to try it, these noodles were pretty hard to find. Now they can be found in almost every supermarket (in Selangor, at least), probably due the popularity it's gained from all those spicy noodle challenges. (They're also certified Halal!) Anyway, I went with the Cheese flavour for my first try (since I love cheese).

It's all in Korean, lol. Direct import from Korea?

Cup Noodle Review: Matcha Seafood

Here is another cup noodle review for a flavour that may still be available in Japan at the time of writing. It's Nissin's Matcha Shitate Seafood flavoured cup noodle!

With fancy packaging! (And Mt. Fuji!!)

Valentine Special - Muji Strawberry Gateau Chocolat

It's (almost) Valentine's Day, so I figured I should post a valentine-themed recipe of sorts. This is something that should still be available in any Muji outlets near you, the Muji make-it-yourself Strawberry Gateau Chocolat baking kit!
Don't worry, it's not very hard to make.

Cup Noodle Review: Rich Cup Noodle - Oxtail Soup flavour

I'm back! Sorry for not posting in a while. 8D;; Somehow I haven't had the time to update this blog but hopefully I can post something at least once a month. I'll start the first blog post of 2017 with a flavour that should still be available in Japan: Oxtail Soup Flavour!
