This here's an interesting one. It's instant ramen based off the Sriracha hot sauce! I kinda like Sriracha sauce so I'm curious to see how this one tastes!

The red colour of the packet is certainly really striking. |
(Also, since this noodle is pretty similar to the
Samyang Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen in terms of flavour and preparation, I'm gonna be comparing the two of them a lot.)
I'm surprised. It's only at level 2 spiciness? |
Boiling the noodles together with the toppings~ |
In the meantime, I shall fry an egg. |
Alright, noodles are done! |
Drain the water and transfer the noodles into a bowl... |
And add the hot sauce! |
I licked a bit off the sauce off my finger and boy, is it spicy! I also left a bit of water in the bowl because I don't want the noodles to be too dry.
Alright, all coated in sauce. |
Time to top it off with the fried egg! |
It's not pictured, but I also added some Korean seaweed to the noodles to give it a bit more variation in flavour. Also, the egg turned out rubbery for some reason. Did I cook it wrong somehow?
Anyway, as for how it tastes... I think I recognise the tangy sourish taste of the Sriracha sauce when I tasted the noodles. It's also pretty spicy, but compared to the Samyang Hot Chicken Noodles, I can't tell which is spicier. They're pretty close, I think. I did sweat quite a bit towards the end of the meal.
The texture of the noodles is not bad. It's not as thick as the Samyang noodles, but they're firm enough. I can't tell what's in those flakes though. (I didn't check the back of the packet to see what was in it.) Funnily, the leftover sauce at the bottom of the bowl tasted better than it was on the noodles when I drank it. Quite nice, actually.
Overall I think I prefer the Samyang noodles, because their sauce has a bit of sweetness to it that the Sriracha sauce does not have. (It's mostly savoury and sour.) Still this is something worth trying just to see how it tastes (and if you like Sriracha sauce). You can even go all out and add more (actual) Sriracha sauce to it if you want. I bet it'll taste good. :D
I rate this noodle a 6.8/10.
