Muji Mini Ramen (Kimchi & Chicken)

Here's something a little different: Mini instant ramen from Muji! I actually had these a while ago but only found the time now to write their reviews (as you can see from their expiration dates). Anyway, I'm covering two flavours, kimchi and chicken. There's also a Tom Yam Kung flavour which I have not tried yet, but I will try it some time in the future.

But for now, we'll start with the Kimchi flavour first!

Fits nicely in my hand.

It also fits in a slightly wider mug.

All cooked!

These noodles did not come with any extra toppings, so you can go crazy with adding whatever topping you choose. My choice of topping is definitely...

Egg! Soft-boiled egg!

The noodles are really soft, but the kimchi flavour is kinda mild... Did the egg softened the spiciness, I wonder?

Yumm...

Overall it's not bad, and it has this comfort food feel. You can always add more spice to it with pepper or paprika to give it a little more kick. Since the noodles are small, it's perfect for a light breakfast meal.

Alright, now that we have tried the kimchi flavour, let's see how the Chicken flavour is like!

It's not as red as the kimchi flavour mini ramen.

Fits nicely in a proper soup mug!

Mmm, all cooked.

Let's not forget the egg!

Amusingly, the chicken flavour tasted like the kimchi flavour, but without the spiciness. I feel a little disappointed, but I guess that means it comes down to whether you want your mini ramen spicy or not. Personally I prefer my noodles with a bit of spice, but the chicken flavour is also not bad.

Overall, I'd say the Muji Mini Ramens are worth trying. The small size of the mini ramen together with the egg makes it a nice light breakfast dish, and you can add whatever toppings you like to the ramen. It's not that different from eating eggs and toast when you think about it.

I recommend these Muji Mini Ramen if you'd like to try something different for breakfast. I actually find myself craving for these mini ramen sometimes because they're so easy to make (and I love instant ramen). I rate these noodles a 7/10!
